Arbitration and Mediation Services
Mr. Healey is available to serve as an arbitrator or mediator in labor, employment and commercial matters in metropolitan Washington, D.C. (including Maryland and Virginia) and throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. In the arbitration and mediation of employment and business matters, his areas of particular expertise include wrongful discharge; breach of contract; noncompetition, restrictive covenant, franchise and intellectual property claims ; executive employment agreements; whistleblower claims; wage hour disputes; pension claims; common law employment claims; race, sex, age discrimination and retaliation charges, and franchise matters. With respect to traditional labor arbitration and mediation, Mr. Healey is skilled in the interpretation and application of collective bargaining contracts and with related issues of arbitrability, just cause discipline and discharge, work rules, job assignments, grievance procedure compliance, subcontracting , movement of work, job classification, wage rates and incentive pay, custom and past practice, and many other traditional labor issues arising between labor and management.
$2100 per day for full arbitrator and mediator hearing days; $300 per hour for study time, writing of award, resolution of pre-hearing motions; travel expenses waived for matters within metropolitan Washington, D.C. Other travel expenses reimbursed at actual cost.
